Compliant Country

To achieve EITI Compliant status a country must complete an EITI Validation. Validation is an essential element of the EITI global standad. It provides an independent assessment of the progress achieved and identifies what measures are needed to strengthen the EITI process. The Validation is carried out by an independent Validator selected by the Multi-stakeholder Group, using the methodology set out in the EITI Validation Guide.

If the EITI International Board considers a country to have met all the indicators in the Validation grid, the country will be recognised as EITI Compliant. The full details of the EITI validation process can be found in the EITI Validation Guide.

Currently, none of the candidate countries have completed a Validation. Several candidates are preparing undertake this work.
